Fabric Formed Concrete Fire Table

FOUR: DEMOLDING

After the piece has cured for 12-24 hours, it can be removed from the formwork. Before demolding, the piece is ground flat on the bottom edge so it will sit flat and level on the ground.

Step 1 – Grind the Feet

  • Use a grinder on the feet until they are even with the wall caps.
  • Grind the top edges of the form in the air-gap flush with the form walls.
  • After grinding, the piece is ready to demold.

Step 2 – Demolding

  • Remove the form walls.
  • Remove the screws holding the 1″-thick disc knockout to the form.
  • Flip the piece over, placing it on foam, and remove the baseboard.
  • It will help to have a few extra people to pull the baseboard out of the concrete.
