CHENG Concrete Exchange is please to announce the Call for Entries for the 7th Annual 2011 Members' Circle of Distinction Design Challenge.

Recognized in the industry as the pinnacle of exceptional design and craftsmanship, this Members-only competition is the opportunity to showcase your talent and technical muscle alongside some of the very best in creative concrete. It's free. It's no hassle. And, if selected a winner, you'll enjoy the benefits of industry recognition, product prizes, and the invaluable credibility-building with clients.

Join us in Nashville, Tennessee, "Music City," Where winners will be announced at the 2011 Concrete Decor Show.

Lucky Number 7: Awards + Recognition
Winners of the 7th Annual Design Challenge will be announced on Wednesday, March 16, 2011. Take on the competition and perhaps you'll enjoy the following:

CATEGORY WINNERS
"Best of" Winners in each Category will receive (1) $250 Merchandise Certificate good toward CHENG Concrete Countertop Products line (does not include equipment and non-CHENG branded products). Each winner will also be awarded a distinctive Circle of Distinction trophy and certificate. The awarding of Honorable Mention winners for each category are at the discretion of the judges. Honorable Mention award winners will receive a Circle of Distinction award certificate.

BEST OF SHOW
In addition to an award certificate, The Best of Show Winner will receive a $500 Merchandise Certificate good toward CHENG Concrete Countertop Product line (does not include equipment and non-CHENG branded products) PLUS 1 year $1,200 Membership to CHENG Concrete Exchange.

ADDITIONAL RECOGNITION

• All award-winning work will be prominently featured in a dedicated Award Winner Gallery online at CHENG Concrete Exchange, one of the top visited areas of concreteexchange.com.
• Each winner will be designated with a Circle of Distinction seal on their online Find a Contractor listing and Profile Page.
• A press release will be developed for general press release and will be provided to each winner to use for local media.
• Individual, customized press releases will be developed for each "Best of" Winner and provided to each winner for their personal public relations or web content use.
• Additional public relations, or media coverage, may be available pending available opportunities. The 2010 Award Winners were mentioned in these media outlets and more: Concrete Decor, Concrete Contractor, Concrete Network, and various local press.

Entry Eligibility
Only current CHENG Concrete Exchange Members are eligible to enter the Members' Circle of Distinction Design Challenge.

Entry Fee
There are NO FEES required to enter. As long as you are a CHENG Concrete Exchange Member in good standing, you may enter as many projects as you desire that meet the requirements of the categories listed.

Entry Requirements

1. Entry Form. Completely fill out the entry form. If you are submitting more than one entry, an entry form is required for EACH project. Each project may be entered into ONLY ONE CATEGORY.
2. Photographs/Images.
   a). Please submit at least two professional quality photographs* from different perspectives of your finished project.
   b). Photos must be printed out on 8-1/2" x 11" or 8" x 10" photo paper or cardstock.
   c). Identify each photo with the entrant name and name of project on the back of the photo. *Some things to consider for presenting your work at its best: lighting; cleaning and staging the areal the perspective of the shot; calling out different views/details.
3. CD/DVD. Your printed photos must be accompanied by a CD with high resolution files of all submitted photos (Total file size for one 8" x 10" at 300 DPI will be about 25 MB).

Categories
Enter each project in ONLY ONE of the following categories:

1. Interior Kitchen: concrete application in a kitchen setting (island, counter, sink, etc.).
2. Outdoor Living: outdoor concrete application (island, counter, fire pit, planter, etc.).
3. Bath: concrete application in a bathroom or powder room setting (counter, tub, show surround, etc.).
4. Integral Sink: any countertop featuring an integral concrete sink.
5. Decorative Finish: creative use of terrazzo finish, decorative aggregate, inlay, or color o provide surface interest.
6. Best Functional Feature: innovative use of concrete to enhance functionality (drain board, soap dish, bar accessory, cutting board, integral trivet, etc.).
7. Water Feature: concrete application that features a water element.
8. Furniture: concrete tabletop, bench, chair, wine rack, etc.
9. Fireplace: use of concrete in a fireplace or hearth.
10. Commercial or Retail Application: innovative uses of concrete in a restaurant, office, retail space, or showroom.
11. Sculpture: 3-dimensional artistic expression using concrete.
12. New Members: any and all concrete application produced by a Member new to Concrete Exchange in 2010(NEW CATEGORY THIS YEAR!)
