CHENG Concrete Exchange is excited to announce the Call for Entries for the 8th Annual Members' Circle of Distinction Design Challenge 2012, where the best in concrete creativity meets international exposure and makes important local connections.

Since 2005, the annual Circle of Distinction Design Challenge has showcased the best in concrete craftsmanship and design—the first ever awards to recognize excellence in concrete countertops (and beyond)—and has been one of the industry's most sought-after awards. This Members-only competition provides an opportunity to acknowledge those who push the limits of concrete beyond the “decorative” and into the realm of design—creating something emotional, functional, beautifully technical and sometimes deeply meaningful.

Entry Eligibility
Only current CHENG Concrete Exchange Members are eligible to enter the Members' Circle of Distinction Design Challenge 2012. To learn more about becoming a member, visit our membership page.

Entry Fee
There are NO FEES required to enter. CHENG Concrete Exchange Members in good standing may enter as many projects as desired that meet the requirements of the categories listed.

Entry Requirements

1. ENTRY FORM. Completely fill out the entry form. If you are submitting more than one entry, an entry form is required for EACH project. Each project may be entered into ONLY ONE CATEGORY.
2. PRINTED IMAGES.
   a. Please submit at least two professional quality photographs* from different perspectives of your finished project.
   b. Photos must be printed out on 8-1/2" x 11" or 8" x 10" photo paper or cardstock.
   c. Please do not include any photos with people or company identification to facilitate blind judging. *Some things to consider for presenting your work at its best: lighting; cleaning and staging the area, the perspective of the shot; calling out different views/details.
3. DIGITAL IMAGES ON CD OR FLASH DRIVE. Your printed photos must be accompanied by a CD or flash drive with high resolution files of all submitted photos (for example, total file size for one 8" x 10" at 300 dpi will be about 25 MB).

Categories
Enter each project in ONLY ONE of the following categories:

1. Interior Kitchen: concrete application in a kitchen setting (island, counter, sink, etc.).
2. Outdoor Living: outdoor concrete application (bbq surround, island, counter, table, fire pit, planter, walls, etc.).
3. Bath: concrete application in a bathroom or powder room setting (counter, tub, show surround, etc.).
4. Integral Sink: any countertop featuring an integral concrete sink.
5. Furniture: concrete dining table, coffee table, bench, chair, wine rack, etc.
6. Fireplace: use of concrete in a fireplace or hearth.
7. Commercial or Retail Application: innovative uses of concrete in any commercial setting (restaurant, office, retail space, lobby, showroom, etc.)
8. Sculpture: 3-dimensional artistic expression using concrete.
9. D-FRC / GFRC - NEW THIS YEAR: any concrete project made with NeoMix D-FRC(Decorative Fiber Reinforced Concrete) or Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete. This category ALSO REQUIRES at least 3 work-in-process photos.
