5-day Advanced Countertop Design Training with Fu-Tung Cheng

Personally developed and led by Fu-Tung Cheng, the Advanced Countertop Design Training is comprised of an intensive hands-on program as well as seminar modules on design.

Participants will learn the principles of good concrete design, the techniques to implement them, advanced mold-making, and the trade secrets of Fu-Tung's proprietary Geocrete™ finish. Each team of participants will craft a Fu-Tung original countertop design; each design includes features and techniques discussed throughout the program.

This intensive, 5-day program is held at our 7,000 s.f. CHENG Fabrication Studio, Fu-Tung's working concrete shop. The Advanced Countertop Design Training is conducted by professional CHENG Instructors who possess real-world experience in the concrete countertop business. Participants will learn complex mold-making and will complete an advanced-level concrete countertop.

What will I learn in the Advanced Countertop Design Training?

Learn original design techniques and methods from Fu-Tung Cheng.

At the center of this program, you'll gain the need-to-know, proprietary Fu-Tung Cheng details for designing and crafting beautiful, high-end concrete countertops.

Learn the fundamental principles of kitchen planning and design from Fu-Tung Cheng.

With a solid understanding of design, attendees will be prepared to transform concrete from the humble material of sidewalks and highways into sculptural countertops sought after by the most discerning homeowners.

Working with Fu-Tung and his experienced instructors, attendees will learn the tips, techniques and methods that have made the CHENG team the unparalleled leader in concrete countertop design, craftsmanship, and education.

Learn to build an advanced-level, concrete countertop from start to finish.

Working in small groups of three, you'll build a complex, concrete countertop project under the guidance of CHENG Instructors. All instructors possess extensive hands-on, professional experience in the design, fabrication, and marketing of concrete countertops.

Learn the trade secrets for creating Fu-Tung's Geocrete™ finish.

This proprietary high-end finish developed over 25 years ago has been the cornerstone of Fu-Tung's personal success in the concrete countertop industry. Without requiring any additional polishing, Geocrete™ countertops are ready to seal and wax shortly after de-molding, or lifting from the form.
